Sarah McClure is the founding editor of EcoEtique, a guide to understanding, communicating and inspiring all aspects of environmental & social etiquette. She is a freelance writer covering green living, people, culture and health & beauty in Los Angeles. She is a regular contributor with Your Daily Thread, Total Beauty and blogger for Simple Shoes, where she writes on environmental/holistic issues, culture, active/outdoor living, design and celebrity beauty.
As a journalist, she's worked several editorial positions, from on staff at a daily L.A.-based legal newspaper, an editorial assistant for Orange County's most widely circulated lifestyle magazine, an associate editor for a B2B magazine—a post she held for three years, to working nearly a decade as a freelance writer. She has written on a host of topics, from a travel guide to Santa Barbara, turning wine into a health regime, LAPD's first female pilot, an 8-year-old root beer entrepreneur, behind the scenes with the etiquette consultant for the Tournament of Roses, X Game skateboarders, film animators, professional surfers, eco interior designers to one lawyer-turned-home chef. She's interviewed high profiles as O.J. Simpson's Judge Lance Ito, Ken Starr, Jon Provost, Lisa Ling, Tim Gunn, KPCC radio host Sandra Tsing Loh and Sex & the City author Candace Bushnell.
On a personal note, she couldn't help but feel unabashedly bliss when the editors at Elle Décor and Marie Claire published her letters this year.
Her writing has appeared in Flaunt magazine, Total Beauty, Simple Shoes, Racked LA, Your Daily Thread, Pasadena magazine, Tasting Table, Sierra magazine's blog Green Life, Whole Life Times magazine, Orange Coast magazine, ValleyLife magazine, Ideal Bite, 944 and the Los Angeles Daily Journal.
